Ey, shout out to the LGBT community. No hate, i’m just curious. Answer me in an ask porfavor.

Is it a generally accepted premise within the LGBT community that Gender Identities are social constructs? What’s the typical view here?

It’s important to remember that the moment hermeneutics is rendered irrelevant is the moment life is rendered irrelevant. It is precisely the moment in which the correct interpretation of text is rendered a concept too abstract for correspondence (correspondence to reality); it is precisely that moment in which we have definitively cut ties with reality. That is the end of philosophy as it were, the beginning of the era of philosophy that scoffs at truth and sneers at “meaning.” It whispers of Erasmus. It discards reason in favor of nothing, of nothingness. And all the while we must remember. We must remember that those who do this do it with no noble motivation, it is not in the name of progress that truth is murdered, it is in the name of despair. Those who commit this crime, as I see it a crime, commit it because they are faced with a set of circumstances—called “Life”—that are too difficult to stomach, and impossible to reason their way around.

I can't bring myself to respect you due to your over- inflated ego so many years ago. I wish I knew how to apologize for that. I so admire your writing, you raise so many thought-provoking questions

I would ask you this: If you’ve ever made mistakes, and you have i’m sure, would you want them to haunt you? Do you think it’s necessary that they do?

I would also tell you this, not so that you’ll respect me, but so that you might forgive me. My over-inflated ego was the result of an extremely tender, sensitive kid thrown into a public school system at an early/tender age. I was the softest child in the world. And I was at a soft Christian private school. I was faced with the options: harden up or get trampled. Of course those weren’t the only options in reality, but I couldn’t see anything else. I chose to harden up. So my ego was a front, as every ego really is.

Please forgive me for it. please

We know now that a text is not a line of words releasing a single ‘theological’ meaning (the ‘message’ of the Author-God) but a multi-dimensional space in which a variety of writings, none of them original, blend and clash. The text is a tissue of quotations drawn from the innumerable centres of culture.
